SymBOL of the Adriatic
Bol is the most famous touristic destination on island Brac situated on the southern coast of the island. It is best known for its famous beach Zlatni rat – symbol of the Adriatic, made of pebbles that have been rolling down from Vidova Gora. The point of the Zlatni rat (Golden horn) changes shape, attempting to conform to the will of the waves and sea currents. Bol is a locality of exceptional maritime benefits. Its coast with numerous corners of peace and pleasures gives a feeling of a large free space, is created for meditation and relaxation but also for active holidays. Brac Island offers many possibilities for sports such as tennis, windsurfing, scuba diving, cycling, climbing, beach volleyball and water sports.
There are other many attractive beaches and hidden coves, where you can also sunbathe and jump into the clear sea, it is an amazing feeling of freedom and enjoyment. Some more popular beaches apart from Zlatni rat are Martinica beach on very east side of Bol, next to the Dominican Monastery that dates from 15th century. Borak beach; located between Bol and Zlatni rat, where most sport activities are concentrated. There are two windsurfing centers, kite surfing center, scuba diving center and volleyball field. All sport centers offer training and equipment rentals. With locals there is a small very popular beach for children in very center of Bol behind Veli Most (Bol Peer), where you can enjoy crystal clear sea and have peaceful time in the sun. The island has a wonderful setting with restaurants and bars along the sea front.
